These is the full list of this year’s winners at the Africa Movie Academy Award AMAA, held in Port Elizabeth, South Africa on Saturday 26th September. This year, the award committee received over 800 entries from 60 countries.

Kunle Afolayan came home with two awards for his extra ordinary work on ''October 1st'' which won the Best Nigerian Film category and the Winner for Achievement In Costume Design category with same movie.

Comedian Ayo Makun popularly known as AY, 30 days in Atlanta won the Best Comedy Film while the biggest prize of the night which is  Best Film/Picture went to Timbuktu from Mauritania.

Winner for Achievement In Make-up – “Njinga: Queen of Angola – Angola”

Winner For Achievement In Costume Design – “October 1 – Nigeria”

Best Supporting Actress – Ama Amphofo

Best Actress In A Leading Role – Njinga, Queen of Angola

Best Actor In A Leading Role – Sadiq Daba

Best First Feature Film By A Director – “Destiny Ekaragha – Gone Too Far”

Special Jury Prize – Le President (Cameroon) and Triangle: Going to America (Ethiopia)

Life Achievement Award – Tony Vander Heyden (Movie director/producer)

Posthumous Award – Oronto Douglas

Other awards were:

Special recognition – Africa Magic (for support to the African movie industry), Kingsley Agoro was also specially recognized at the award ceremony.

Meanwhile, Tony Elumelu was announced as honorary advisor for Africa Movie Academy Awards.
