The Supreme Court this evening upheld the elections of Akwa Ibom state governor, Udom Emmanuel and Abia state governor, Okezie Ikpeazu.
The Supreme Court of Nigeria sitting in Abuja this evening upheld the elections of kwa Ibom state governor, Udom Emmanuel and Abia state governor, Okezie Ikpeazu. Udom's election was challenged by APC candidate, Umana Umana while Abia state governor's election was challenged by APGA candidate Alex Otti.
In the court ruling, the appeal of the Independent National Electoral Commission, challenging the cancellation of election results in some local government areas, was also upheld.
Reasons for verdict are to be given on February 15.
