Sprint queen Blessing Okagbare on Thursday claimed her seventh national title as she blitzed the Women’s 100m event in a sizzling 11.02secs at the ongoing All-Nigeria Championships in Sapele, Delta State.
Okagbare, who didn’t feature at the 2015 All-Nigeria Championships in Warri following a tiff with the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN), send the warning signals in the semifinal after winning with a dominant 11.22secs, Vanguard writes.
And in Thursday’s final, the 27-year-old sensation ghosted to the title with a new record time, trumping her previous championship mark of 11.06 which she set while she won the 2010 edition of the All-Nigeria Championship in Calabar.
Peace Ukoh came second while last year’s winner, Gloria Asumnu completed the podium in third place.
