Nigerian Internationals, Alex Iwobi and Kelechi Nigeria Iheanacho have been nominated for the 2016 edition of the Golden Boy Award.
Other players nominated alongside Iwobi and Iheanacho include Nigerian-born England International-Dele Alli who plays for Tottenham, Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford, Chelsea’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Andreas Christensen and Nathan, Leicester City’s Demarai Gray, Liverpool’s Marko Grujic and Manchester City’s Leroy Sane.
Alex Iwobi who has become a common fixture on Arsenal’s first team, made his debut last season scoring two goals, while Iheanacho became the first Nigerian player to score in the Manchester derby made the list with 10 goals in the 2015/2016 season and three so far in the ongoing season.
The Golden Boy Award is dedicated to honouring the best player below the age of 21 in the European nation’s cup division.
