Premier League: Iwobi And Iheanacho Star In Massive Wins For Arsenal And City

Alex Iwobi provided two assists as Arsenal romped to a 4-1 win at Hull in the Premier League Saturday.

Picking up where he left off in the Champions League midweek, Iwobi combined with Alexis Sanchez for the opening goal as his shot was prodded in by the Chilean, who then missed a penalty just before half-time.

Alexis at the double for Arsenal
Theo Walcott added a second after the break, finishing off a sumptuous back-heeled pass from Iwobi, and despite Robert Snodgrass’ penalty for the hosts, further strikes from Sanchez and substitute Granit Xhaka saw the Gunners secure the points and move second behind Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola’s charges maintained their 100 per cent start to the season with a comfortable 4-0 bashing of Bournemouth at the Etihad.

In-form Kevin De Bruyne opened the scoring with a devilish free-kick before Nigerian sensation Kelechi Iheanacho doubled their lead, tapping-in Raheem Sterling’s square ball after a lightning counter attack.

It was Iheanacho’s fourth goal in as many games for club and country as he continues to develop under Guardiola.

Second half strikes from Sterling and league debutant Ilkay Gundogan secured the points as City take charge of the table with five games played.

Slimani off the mark for the Foxes

Champions Leicester City looked to have found form as record signing Islam Slimani marked his Premier League debut with two goals in a 3-0 spanking of Burnley.

Slimani, opened the scoring in first half stoppage time with a header from Christian Fuchs’ free-kick, and made it two just after the restart with another header from Jamie Vardy’s flick.

Ben Mee scored an own goal to complete the rout after devastating work down the right flank from Riyad Mahrez.

West Ham’s poor start to the season continued as they suffered a fourth league defeat, going down 4-2 to West Brom at the Hawthorns to leave them just above the drop zone.

Nacer Chadli scored twice as the hosts raced into a 4-0 lead after an hour, although Michail Antonio and Manuel Lanzini scored late to reduce the embarrassment for the Hammers.
