A 7 years old boy this afternoon drank insecticide in Makurdi, the Benue state capital and died.
According to Lasgidi Online source, the boy drank the insecticide after his parents who stays at Peace Village, behind Hotel Lucia left to see a sick family member at Federal Medical Center in Makurdi.
Lasgidi Online investigation reveals that his father bought the insecticide, mixed it in a Fayrouz bottle and kept it so that he could spray it on his farm and warned his children not to drink nor touch it but due to the stubbornness of the boy, he drank it as his parents were not around.
He was rushed to the hospital but died on the road before they could reach the hospital.
People who came to sympathize with the family recalled how the boy once took man power on the floor and swallowed it, it took swift intervention of some closed residents to save him then.
