Hon Terkimbi Ikyange of the All Progressives Congress has emerged the Speaker of the 8th Benue State House of Assembly.

Hon Terkimbi IKyange of Ushongo constituency emerged the Speaker of the 8th Benue State House of Assembly with 17 votes against Hon Dominic Ucha of Tiev constituency who pulled only 13.

Hon James Ejembi of the PDP representing Okpokwu state constituency was elected as the deputy speaker.

The Speaker and his deputy immediately paid a courtesy call on the Governor, Dr Samuel Ortom at the Benue Peoples House.

Hon. Terkimbi Ikyange who was born on the 29th of February 1980 becomes the youngest speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly since 1993 when Emmanuel Jime, a former APC governorship aspirant, emerge speaker at the age of 30.
