We got to know about Ms Badmus’ Instagram page after a mutual friend shared one of her photos. Like the famous police officer, Aliyu Giwa, she shares inspiring notes frequently, creating a new narrative for the Nigeria Police Force.
Over time, Ms Badmus, who commands over 7,000 followers on the platform, has documented her life as a police officer in picture stories that tell the story of dedication, love and passion for one’s job. All of these accumulating to form the new image of the Lagos State Police Command.
Beyond sharing happy selfies, the PPRO updates the public on crime stories, statements and update on trending cases, even before newsmen get to them. With her platform, she has enabled young bloggers to get first hand and verified information on cases, drastically reducing the rate of false news circulating on the Nigerian internet space. Also, unofficially, Ms Badmus uses her platform to get feedback from Nigerians.
