Two women – Iyabo Azeez and Iyabo Olaiya – have been arrested by officers of the Lagos State Police Command for reportedly conniving with robbers to move stolen goods in the Mile 2 Area.
According to Punch, the women were nabbed by officers of Zone 2 command Onikan, following a tip off that a container of goods was diverted on August 23, 2016.
Newsmen gathered that the robbery suspect – the driver of the truck carrying the container, Ibrahim Musa, and his accomplice Mohammed Jazuli had been previously arrested by the Katsina State Police Command. After the goods were moved from the container, the truck was then abandoned in the Mowe area of Ogun State.
Two accomplices, Tunde Omowunmi and Abdulkareem Fatima, were later nabbed by the Lagos Police. Their arrests led to the discovery of the housewives who reportedly connived with them to move the stolen goods.
Speaking with the press, the Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, SP Muyiwa Adejobi, said the suspects have been charged to court.
“The principal offender, Omowunmi – who is a notorious criminal, conspired with the driver, Musa, and the three women, Abdulkareem, Azeez, and Olaiya. They have been arrested and charged to court.
“The AIG assures the general public of his commitment to tackle crime within the zone,” he added.
