Customer Stabbed To Death During Brawl At A Lagos Restaurant

There was pandemonium at Bees Restaurant on Ire Akari Estate in the Isolo area of Lagos State, after a clash involving customers resulted in the death of one person.

The tragic incident occurred Sunday night, Punch writes, after an altercation ensued between the yet-to-be-identified victim and another customer.

It soon degenerated into a free-for-all whereupon the male victim was stabbed in his chest with a broken bottle after which he bled to death. Two other customers were left with various degrees of injuries in the process.

Eyewitnesses say policemen from the Isolo division went to the scene and removed the corpse, while a police source submits that they had yet to ascertain what led to the fight, though preliminary investigation showed that some of the customers were drunk.

“Anti-crime patrol policemen mobilised to the scene and a man was seen lying down in a pool of blood. He was subsequently rushed to a hospital, where he died,” the source said.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, confirmed the incident, adding that investigation was ongoing.

“The owner of the bar is undergoing interrogation with the command. Although he denied that the fracas happened inside his bar, the police are investigating to find out what actually transpired,” she said.
