Akinwunmi Ambode, Nnamdi Ezeigbo and other top captains of industries and government functionaries has commended the YEN initiative at the just concluded Youth & Women Empowerment Congress, YAWEC2017 Lagos hosted by Young Entrepreneurs of Nigeria (YEN) on the 16th March, 2017 where over 800 youths and women entrepreneurs, top government functionaries and captains of industries where in attendance.
Young Entrepreneurs of Nigeria is the voice and umbrella body for Nigerian young entrepreneurs that seek to empower youth entrepreneurs with finance, capacity building, network, business tools and also champion the cause of young entrepreneurs at local, regional and national levels to curb unemployment amongst youths in Nigeria and enhance national productivity.
Similarly speaking, the wife of the Lagos State Governor, Mrs.Bolanle Ambode who was the Keynote Speaker and recipient of YEN Honorary Membership/Women Empowerment Excellence Award at the event applauded the efforts of Young Entrepreneurs of Nigeria (YEN) on it conscious effort to help grow and support aspiring young entrepreneurs and women in the Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) sector in Nigeria.
She also added that the effort of YEN to compliments the government efforts towards youth empowerment, poverty alleviation and wealth creation cannot be overemphasized.
She said, “I am informed that the various support to be enjoyed by young entrepreneurs under this initiative include business capacity building, networking opportunities, free business websites and hosting services worth over 50Million among others”.
The wife of the Governor further urged corporate bodies and individuals to compliment the Lagos State Government efforts towards youth empowerment, poverty alleviation and job creation.
Apart from the Wife of Lagos State Governor, Mrs. Bolanle Ambode other speakers at the event include, Nnamdi Ezeigbo MD/CEO SLOT systems Limited, Adebola Williams Co-founder Red Media, Akin Oyebode Executive Secretary LSETF, and Otto Orondaam Founder Slum2School, Muna Onuzo, Founder Gazzelle Academy amongst others.
Speaking at the Congress, Chris Kohol the National President of Young Entrepreneurs of Nigeria (YEN) stated that the core objective for the congress was to empower youths & women with entrepreneurial capacity and technology and also encourage entrepreneurship as a tool for sustainable development.
While thanking delegates, Special Guests and Speakers for their active participation during the YAWEC 2017 Congress, Kohol added that it is the hope that each of us will work together for the promotion of entrepreneurship as we continue to impact positively on our nation's economic fortune as youth entrepreneurship development is the only key to our nation’s unemployment crises.
