North Korea’s leader, Kim Jong-Un has said the country’s intercontinental missile test was a “gift” to “American bastards” on their independence day, Pyongyang’s official news agency said on Wednesday.
Kim was quoted as saying “American bastards would be not very happy with this gift sent on the July 4 anniversary”.
It said, he “added that we should send them gifts once in a while to help break their boredom”.
The intercontinental ballistic missile is capable of carrying a “large, heavy nuclear warhead” that can survive re-entry into the Earth’s atmosphere, its official news agency said Wednesday.
Washington described the device, launched on Tuesday in a watershed moment for Pyongyang’s weapons ambitions, as an ICBM, and independent experts said it was capable of reaching Alaska.
Kim had inspected the Hwasong-14 missile and “expressed satisfaction, saying it looked as handsome as a good-looking boy and was well made”.
