President Trump has offered on Monday to help a 10-month-old boy in the U.K. suffering from a rare genetic condition.
According to Politico, the boy, Charlie Gard after a series of legal battles by his parents on if he should remain on life support, got the attention of international community. Diagnosed with Mitochondrial DNA depletion syndrome, the British courts ruled that his life support should be stopped since doctors said he had a zero chance of survival. If we can help little #CharlieGard, as per our friends in the U.K. and the Pope, we would be delighted to do so.

#Trump4Charlie started to trend following the president’s tweet while the hashtag #CharlieGard got over 8,000 mentions on Twitter on Monday morning. Director of White House media affairs, Helen Ferre, said President Trump offered to help the Gard family, but the hospital and doctor remain anonymous.
“Although the President himself has not spoken to the family, he does not want to pressure them in any way, members of the administration have spoken to the family in calls facilitated by the British government, the President is just trying to be helpful if at all possible.”
