Yesterday we posted that a portion of the Makurdi-Lafia road at the Yelewata settlement on the outskirts of Makurdi has collapsed and just a chunk of the road was still hanging.
Last night, tragedy occurred as a vehicle fully loaded fell into the pit and one person died on the spot while another heavy duty vehicle fell on the other side of the road.
At the time of writing this report, some angry youths blocked the road in demonstration.
