Following the successful conduct of its National Convention on 9th-10th December, 2017, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the early hours of this morning inaugurated members of its new substantive Executive Committee.
Newly elected National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, took the Oath of Allegiance and also the Oath of Office separately while the 23 other members of the Exco took theirs jointly.
The Oaths were administered on the party officials by candidate of the party in the last governorship election in Ondo State, Eyitayo Jegede SAN in a ceremony which ended at 3:35 am.
In an acceptance speech on behalf of himself and other members of the new Exco, the new National Chairman, Prince Secondus, promptly declared a mission to rescue Nigeria from what he tagged the misrule and lack of direction of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Prince Secondus also welcomed Alh. Atiku Abubakar back into the party, even as he extended a hand of fellowship to those who contested with him in the chairmanship race and those who ran for all the other offices, enjoining them all to join hands to work for the greater good of the party and that of Nigeria.
He further expressed deep appreciations and commendation for the work done by the out gone Senator Ahmed Makarfi led National Caretaker Committee and the Convention Planning Committee led by Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State.
The newly sworn in PDP National Chairman called on all party faithful to close ranks to reclaim power from the APC, as he pledged the total commitment of the new Exco to the task ahead.
Taraba State Governor and Deputy Chairman of the Convention Planning Committee, Darius Ishaku, moved the motion for the adjournment of the Convention which was seconded by former Minister of Information, and Secretary of the Publicity Sub-Committee, John Odey.
