The Nigerian Army has officially flagged off the Operation Ayem Akpatuma otherwise known as "Operation Cat Race" to bring to put an end to the lingering attacks on farmers by the Fulani herdsmen.
The Exercise was done today at LGEA primary School Mbabegha, Gbajimba, Guma LGA.
The army chief said they will ensure the full application of the rules of engagement, and shall not tolerate any act that will jeopardize the peace in the area.
He said the exercise is not targeted at any ethnic or religious groups, but rather it is targeted criminals
Lt. Gen. Burutai disclosed that it will place emphasis on raids, cordon and search operations, roadblocks, checkpoints, and show of force, and humanitarian activities such as medical outreach.
The exercise will be carried out in Benue, Taraba, Nasarawa, Kogi, Kaduna, and Niger state.
