Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo says acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu, is “going nowhere”.
Speaking to newsmen in Abuja earlier today, Osinbajo said there is no justification for the position of the senate. The Nigerian Senate has on two occassions rejected Magu;s nomination as Chairman of the antigraft agency.Magu is going nowhere. Seriously, what offence has this man committed. I have known him personally right from the time of the very first chairman of the commission till now, he is a very dedicated, trustworthy gentleman. Don’t forget he is also the most senior official of the EFCC.”
Osibanjo added that the presidency will not be forced to sack Magu just because the Senate is opposed to his appointment.
