The controversial question sparked outrage among the app’s users with Chelsea Clinton calling the advert ‘awful’ on Twitter.
The advert was for a ‘Would you rather’ game and Snapchat were forced to pull the ad from their platform.
A spokesperson from Snapchat later told Mashable:
‘The ad was reviewed and approved in error, as it violates our advertising guidelines. We immediately removed the ad last weekend, once we became aware. We are sorry that this happened.’
Just awful. Awful that anyone thinks this is funny. Awful that anyone thinks this is appropriate. Awful that any company would approve this. Thank you Brittany for calling this out.— Chelsea Clinton (@ChelseaClinton) March 12, 2018
I don't use @Snapchat and anyone who does really should question how this was approved for their site. Disgusting...Domestic violence is not a GAME!— Cookieboo23 (@23Cookieboo) March 12, 2018
