Ortom Receives 3OO Text Messages During Radio Program, Benue, Benue News, Makurdi, Samuel Ortom, News,
Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, yesterday received over 300 text messages during a special edition of Radio Benue weekly interactive program, Issues of the moment.

He responded to the messages during the two-hour program that lasted from 8 to 10 am which was focused on the blueprint of his administration, “Our Collective Vision for a New Benue.”

Most of the people who interacted with the Governor either drew his attention to key areas which they wanted his administration to concentrate on or commended him on his efforts since assumption of office.

Callers from far and near also participated on the program.

Messrs Tyochir Mpinega from Vaase in Ukum, a border community with Taraba State, and someone who identified himself as Solomon from Obi local government being the farthest.

In his message, Ayina Terver from Ushongo said the Governor had started well particularly with the introduction of the amnesty program which he said has reduced criminality in the state.

Azuka Onuh, from Wurukum, in Makurdi said Governor Ortom was God-sent to the people of the state and prayed that  he would succeed in his mission while Paul Torna also from Wurukum wanted to know when the ghost workers discovered would be replaced.

Faith Udeh from North Bank asked to know the fate of SURE-P staff even as Andrew Angyo from Aliade  implored the Governor to attend to the ailing Taraku Mills.

In his message, Donatous Oga-Affiah appealed to the Governor to consider the employment of the temporary staff of Radio Benue as a Christmas gift to enable them serve the state better.

Aondona Jacob from Makurdi drew Governor Ortom’s attention to the alleged compromise at the ICT unit of the Bureau for local government and Chieftaincy Affairs while Pauline Adzaugba commended the Governor on his efforts so far

Abuh Okoh of Otukpo wanted to know if there would be any extension of the screening exercise for state government workers while Tertsen Agber of Kwande sought to know the measures put in place towards providing affordable housing for Benue workers.

On her part, Grace Iyorhe prayed God to continue to bless the Governor.

The Governor responded to all the issues raised in the course of the program.
