The Caretaker Chairman of Otukpo local Government Council was among those shot in the crisis that erupted at Ondo Ugboju and spread to Ogobia Ugboju at Otukpo Local Government Area Yesterday.
This was confirmed by Hon. Okloho Adams the member representing Adoka/Ugboju at the State House Of Assembly, who made a fact-finding tour of the area along Amb. (Dr) Dickson Akor, the Special Assistant to the State Governor on Special Duties.
According to him, the Caretaker Chairman has been taken to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.
However, three persons were reportedly killed in the crisis. It was gathered that those killed in the crisis were Okwoche Omale, Andrew Adaji and Audu Okopi.
Several houses were also torched and burned to the ground.
According to the eyewitnesses, the crisis was triggered by a disagreement between the caretaker Chairman of Otukpo Local Government Area, Mr. Ijachi Ude of the APC and his younger brother, Eje Ude of the PDP.
The representative of Otukpo/Akpa in the state House of Assembly, Johnson Ahubi told newsmen that the crisis was fueled by some supporters of the APC.
However, the Police Area Commander for Otukpo, Mr. Fasuba Akinyele, said the report had not been brought to his notice yet.
