Hours after Bishop Obinim handed himself over to the police, he was transferred from the Tema Regional Police Command to the CID Headquarters and slammed with an accusation that he defrauded someone of GH¢11.6 million (Approx. N1billion).
According to
Modern Ghana, the pastor and some of his members were arrested after he reported to the station, and not long after, his followers, in their hundreds, stormed the station, demanding his release, with the threat that they would stay put and obstruct activities at the police command.
Recall that the drama started after the radical preacher was recorded on camera, flogging teenagers he accused of fornication. Following the outrage by Ghanaians on social media, Obinim dared the police to arrest him, labeling his country men as ‘hypocrites.’
Now, with the new fraud allegation that is causing some chaos in Ghana, we can’t wait to see how this pans out.
