Raising Africa's Next Generation Of TechPreneurs: Scott Ugba Impact On Students Of Aveco College Makurdi

One of Benue state industrious son, Mr Scott Ugba, best known for Software and website developing who is based in the  United States of America was in the country.

As a man that loves his people and wish to impact the knowledge he learnt abroad on his people of Benue state, on September 15 took the students of Aveco Model College, Makurdi into a practical and motivational approach into the career opportunities available in the world of technology.
 The opening speech was given by Orngu Anngu who took the students through the topic of the day which he said was "Raising Africans Next Generation of TechPreneurs", He told the students how them too can excel in any career they choose in ICT if they work towards it very well.

A student was called upon to declare the day open by praying to God.
 After the prayers, Mr Scott Ugba started his lecture by telling the students that there are three keys things involved  in today's age which are Information Communication and Technology, Competition and Educational Qualification.

He gave them a great example on how Abraham Graham invented the telephone which we use today as a means of communication, According to him your university degree is not really needed in this age because what you can invent is what they want to see.
Mr Ugba gave them an insight on how he developed a software called ERM (Enterprise Risk Management) which was able to track how funds are been deducted from his bank account and was presented to the Nigerian Banking Industry last year and they analysed the software and approved it.
 Another of his work was the development of a robot that was able to detect any vandalised pipeline in the Niger Delta region of the country which he presented to former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo who loved it and introduced him to Shell Petroleum so they could work together on it but it ended up as a mess as they only cheated on him.
He told the students that them too can pick up a career in the technology sector and go places with it.

In concluding remarks, the Principal of the school, Mrs. Rachael Olah thanked the international computer scientist for making Aveco College his starting point for impacting unprecedented computer knowledge. He charged the students to buy logically into the unquestionable ideas of Mr. Scott which in her word, we're certain to find them a seat on life's stage.
