Benue state governor, Samuel Ortom today March 5th, received Nigerian international footballer, Francisca Ordega and a delegation from the Invincible Angels Football Club of Gboko at the Government House Makurdi.
Miss Ordega extolled the role of the founder of the club, Michael Chur, in her career and those of her contemporaries and urged the state government to take over its sponsorship in his honor.
She commended the Governor for standing up for the people of the state in difficult times and announced that she would visit some of the camps for those displaced by the current crisis and make some donations.
Governor Ortom commended her for making the people of the state proud by her exploits in football and expressed appreciation to Mr Chur who he said has demonstrated ability in disability.
He said it was difficult for the state to take over the funding of the club completely but gave it financial support of five million naira pledging to do more subsequently.
