Benue State Government has announced a restriction on commercial motorcyclists movement in Makurdi between 8pm and 6am from today.
The decision follows reports that recent criminal acts in the Benue State capital including the murder of the Senior Special Assistant on Security, Mr Denen Igbana who was shot dead last night at his residence in Makurdi by assailants who rode on motorcycles.
Governor Ortom who made this known while addressing newsmen at the Benue Peoples House, Makurdi, urged security agencies to carry out full investigation into the murder, stressing that anyone found culpable will be made to face the consequences of their actions.
He said the vacuum created by the death of the security aide would be difficult to fill as he was a true professional and had played a key role in the amnesty programme of the state government.
Following the incident, Governor Ortom has canceled all his official engagements earlier scheduled for today.
